How to Stitch Up a Felt Needle Book

Roll the fringe together to form a flower, then sew together at the bottom using a needle. |
5. To make flowers, cut strips of felt that are 1/2 inch wide by 2 inches to 4 inches long. Cut fringe into the felt strip and roll up. Sew the flower at the base with a needle and thread. Fan out the petals. I made three of these in varying sizes and colors.

Fan out and flatten the flowers before you sew them on the needle book. |
6. To assemble the front cover, cut a few leaves from felt and gather some pretty buttons. Hand-sew all pieces to the front of the needle book as desired or follow the photo of the finished cover as a guide.

I finally know where to find my needles! |
7. Organize your needles by type (sharps, embroidery, beading, etc.) on each page. Voila! Perfectly organized sewing needles! Finally!

With a bit of adapting my best friends daughter asked that I make her hardbound paper journal in to a nice wool felt covelet like shown above with the exception of brighter colors for a teenager. She loved it.
You can make it be whatever you want, it was nice for someone to record this wonderful idea but don't let it stop you from adding that creative flare. No person who shows their creation can not be more pleased to see how you all adapt or overcome and idea when one is found. Thank you.
