For knitters who love to knit but don't have the time, Great Little Gifts to Knit (Taunton, 2013) features 30 projects that can be made over the weekend! Author Jean Moss shares brand new designs that use traditional knitting techniques from all over the world including Japanese shadow knitting, Aran cables, and Fair Isle patterns.

Completed with full color images and illustrations, this book is suited for all skill levels. Know exactly what to create with the finished measurements, time frame, materials, notions, and detailed instructions included for every project.

Arranged into four chapters relating to the recipients of the gifts, you will surely find the ideal craft. Some of the projects include:

  • Baby: booties, hats, and cocoons
  • Hers: fingerless gloves, a shrug, and amulet purses
  • His: scarf, belt, and socks
  • Home: cushion covers, seat covers, and place mats

Leave a comment on this post before the deadline-11:59 P.M., September 2nd and you could take home a copy of Great Little Gifts to Knit. TWO winners will be chosen at random and announced via email the week of September 9th.

I just finished my first project from your summer issue "Natural knits for babies and toddlers": Wool cable sweated & earflat hat, and it was a wonderful experience.

Thanks a lot

attheinlet writes: This looks fun. I had been an avid craftsperson, I sewed, gardened and worked out. Now I do PT and lay down the rest of the day. So I have just taken up knitting and crocheting. My great-great Aunt left me all kinds of needles, from plastic, metal to wood even wood with sterling silver designs on the end. I have been seeing books on the "new" Tunisian crochet. Guess what she had those needles in what she collected for her 96 years of life. This book looks great not to bite off more than one can chew. Anyone will be lucky to be randomly picked. It is a very nice gesture.
