A great way to use up extra fabric or those bed sheets you don't like anymore! Oh, you could also use your husbands old cotton shirts or grandma's old cotton dresses!

This rag rug was crocheted from cotton fabric that I ripped into strips. To connect the strips of fabric, I overlapped each end of strip by one inch and hand sewed the two strips together. When I thought I had crocheted enough of one color strips, I changed to a coordinating or contrasting color. I don't like to follow patterns or directions, so I make it up as I go!

You will need an extra large crochet hook to make this rug. The biggest one you can find!

I had an old, "how to crochet" book with directions on making an oval shape with a single crochet stitch. So I gathered my scissors, fabric, crochet hook and started the project.

Be warned... once I started making one, I made two and three...! It was kinda addicting!
