These embellished cafe curtains took less than an hour to make!
I chose some favorite buttons, charms, and sparkles to stitch on at certain spots on the map.
I spotlighted some of my favorite places in Oregon with embellishments.

I love bright, cheerful vintage fabric, and these reproduction-style Oregon state map tea towels caught my eye at the grocery store. I snapped up four of them and turned them into simple, fun cafe curtains with inexpensive clip-rings from the hardware store, and added a few embellishments for good measure, too -- buttons, charms, and sparkling sew-on rhinestones. The whole thing, including hanging them, took less than an hour, too. Read the whole tutorial at my blog, or take the project in your own direction by adding ribbon, lace, rick-rack, beads or any other embellishments to yours!

Chricynthia writes: These turned out light and refreshing. I have also used tableclothes for curtains. When you let your imagination go their are so many fun ways to decorate. Thanks for your ideas.

CalPatch writes: great idea! i have so many tea towels and i hate to wipe my hands on them when they're really nice ones... this is a cool way to display them. and with those clip-on rings you can change them up all the time!
