From Inspiration to Creation

From a flower to a wall of marble, inspiration can take many forms. The photo sets above illustrate this idea, showing what could have served as the jumping-off point, on the left, to the designs, on the right.

To get started, take a walk around your home. Find objects that you see every day and take a photograph of a detail on each piece. Then, look at the photographs and think of how you can translate those into the craft pursuit of your choice. Look at the photo sets above for examples on how to do this.

After you've translated your detail photo into an object of another medium, post the inspiration and results in the comments box below.

Not only would it be great to see how you interpreted your ordinary object, but you might just be inspired by someone else's too!
