A Created Flower Gives Power
September 28th, 2008 in sewing, fashion, crochet, galleryInjured in 2001; I live with cronic pain. At first I was very depressed but after deciding I could crochet while reclining I decided to empower myself by creating something pretty and useful. I started making gifts for family and items to sell at a local shop. These sold well and I began to feel like I was of some value again. I created this flower by crocheting small to large stiches on loops in the round. It is embellished with a vintage button in the center and a crochet leaf on the side. The hat is part of the poncho and hat set that I made many different styles of. I never know what type of flower will come out until I start making it. I don't know that I could say I should deserve to win; but I sure would like to. Winning would make me feel like I was out there shouting to the world; "I am still alive! I am out here in this world creating yet!!" My created flowers really do give me power; the power to feel useful again.
