If you're bored of your existing purse or small clutch then it could be time to make your own, the way you want it.

Keep your phone, keys and money safe in this cute drawstring bag by following these simple instructions.

First of all, you will need:

  • ·         Two wide quarters of cotton fabric (your choice) – 18 x 22 inch pieces.
  • ·         Two yards of cotton cording.

Here's what you need to do:

Step 1

  • ·         Cut each piece of the cotton fabric into two 10-1/2x8 inch rectangles and one 6-1/2-inch-diameter.
  • ·         Join the shorter ends of one of the pairs of matching rectangles, creating a seam 1 inch from the top edge, creating a tube.
  • ·         Sew a matching circle to the bottom of the tube to build your bag.
  • ·         After this, joining the shorter ends of the other two rectangles, which leaves a 3-inch opening in one of the seams.
  • ·         Sew the matching circle to the tube to create the lining.

Step 2

  • ·         Turn the bag inside out and insert the bag into the lining with the right sides together.
  • ·         Then sew around the upper edges with a 1/4-inch seam and then turn the bag the right side out through the opening of the lining.
  • ·         Next, press the top edge of the bag and sew it 3/4 inch & 1-3/4 inches from the edge to make the casing of the bag.
  • ·         Start at opposite sides, thread two of the 1-yard pieces of 3/16-inch-diameter cotton cording through the casing. After this, make sure to knot the ends of each cord and pull to check functionality.

Then, you're your small drawstring cotton bag will be complete.
