Add some color to your fabric. Are you looking to add dimension to your fabric? Shiva Artist’s Iridescent Paintstiks allow everyday objects to transform into a wearable work of art. Any textured surface can be transferred to your fabric. Here, Laura Murray demonstrates the tricks of the Paintstiks trade.

What You'll Need:
• Shiva Artist’s Iridescent Paintstiks (CedarCanyonTextiles.com)
• Everyday objects for rubbing: (jar opener, rubbing plates (Roylco.com), potato masher, food grater, coins, safety pins, paper clips)
• Stencils
• Stamps
• Tape
• Paintbrush

Don’t forgot to heat-set
After embellishing, let the paint set into the fabric for 3-5 days. Then, put the fabric through the dryer for 45 minutes. Finally, use a dry iron on the embellished area for 10-15 seconds. Your new attire is now ready to wear.

ButtonsandSweetpees writes: I love this. I have always wondered how to use these paintsticks. I found an online website that sells them but wasn't sure what they were for. Thank you for the information. Could you use this technique on silk?
