The Art of Jewelry

Portland’s Museum of Contemporary Craft has hosted some fantastic shows, from Craft in America to The Living Room, but the current exhibition is especially close to my heart. Framing: The Art of Jewelry brings the work of two dozen internationally known jewelry artists together for a remarkable show.
From an exquisite choker beaded with reclaimed metal and bright plastics to a bangle studded with shells and original line drawings caught behind glass, the collection spotlights unusual materials and vibrant diversity. You can also pick up a copy of the exhibition catalog -- Metalsmith magazine's volume 27, number 4, which includes all the pieces that curator Ellen Lupton gathered for the show. Beautiful!
