Depending on your meterials, a button bracelet can look elegant or funky.
Buttons can be stacked as simply or intricately as you like.

Extra, extra, read all about it! In "Button Bangles" on p. 52 of Sew Stylish: Gifts to Make, we promised you a bonus button-bracelet project. And here it is: a whimsical cuff made from shimmery mother-of-pearl buttons.

To mix it up, you can use any ol' buttons of your choosing. Go bold and colorful, or opt for tiny and understated. You're the designer, so have rip-roaring button fun!

Build it step-by-step
1. Tie ’em on
To make a bracelet from flat buttons with holes instead of shanks, use pearl cotton or heavy thread to tie them on the elastic. Tie them close to the elastic, or let them dangle.

2. Stack and knot
Make a simple “shanks” by threading a 2 to 3 inch length of pearl cotton through a button or buttons. Knot to secure. For the furry look at right, leave the thread ends long. Or trim for a tamer style.
