Check out this free pattern for a crocheted lace cowl from blogger Without Seams. She made it from a simple one-row lace stitch pattern and she's even written the pattern so that you can use it with several yarn weights. I think it would be equally lovely in a bright worsted yarn, a hazy mohair or, as she says, a variegated sock yarn. You could also change colors on each row to work off bits of your stash yarn for quick and colorful holiday gifts. Have fun with it!
