Decorating your home doesn't have to be time-consuming and expensive. With a little imagination, you can create simple decorations to add a touch of style to any décor. Take a look at these ideas on how to easily give your home a fresh look.

A paper clock with a pattern

Decorate your living room wall with a delightful paper clock with a pattern of your choice. Use a screwdriver to pop off a clock's backing and battery and lift out the face. Remove the hands, nut, and washer with pliers. When setting aside the parts, make sure to note the order, because you'll have to reassemble it later. Trace the shape of the face onto your desired print art and cut out the circle. Center the paper atop the face, making sure that the patterned side is facing out, and secure it with a double-sided tape. Use a pin to poke a hole through the paper for the clock hands. Reassemble all parts, hang it, and let people admire it.

A paintbrush vase

This super easy way to make a unique-looking vase will brighten any room. If you have artistic tendencies and a bunch of used brushes lying around, here's how to put it to their new use. Simply put two rows of rubber band around a tall, cylindrical vase. Take brushes and tuck them inside the bands until they completely cover the vase. It will take only minutes and you'll get a fanciful centerpiece.

Candle decals

Add your candles a new glow with desired illustrations. You'll also need a waterslide decal paper. Download the images of your choice and resize them, if necessary, to fit your candles. Print each image onto a sheet of decal paper and cut it out. The paper will come with a set of instructions on how to transfer the image to your candle. After you've done it, let it set for half an hour and your candle is ready! You can also get some interesting designer homewares By Lassen for a full candle arrangement.

A sweater sham

To make this adorable sham, you'll need an 18-inch square pillow form and a large sweater, cut into 19-inch squares. Sew the right side of the wool together along the edges, while leaving the bottom open. Turn the right side out and insert the pillow form, then stitch the bottom. To make a flower, use a piece of thin sweater to cover a 2-inch circle of card stock and glue the circle's back. Then, fold a 3-by 20-inch strip of another sweater in half lengthwise. Once you've glued the edges together, sew a running stitch down the strip lengthwise along the glued seam. After you've stitched the entire length, pull the thread to scrunch the fabric and knot. Glue the scrunched edge in a circle to the back of the card stock, then glue a pin in the centre to affix the pillow.

A map chair

Turn the seat of your chair from an uncharted territory into a place worth exploring. All you need for this design are pieces of an old map, cut in either stripes or squares. Decorate the surface with these pieces by using a medium-strength adhesive. Make sure to apply several layers of glue and allow the surface to dry between the coats.

Home decoration can be pretty easy and requires just a pinch of creativity. Browse through these tips to get inspired and give your home an instant makeover.
