These charms began their life as a quarter-sized blob of gray clay. I shaped them and imprinted them with various molds. Next, they sat for 30 minutes before being fired with a hand-held torch for 3 minutes. At this point they turned completely white and were submerged for a second in a glass of cool water. The last step wass taking something lightly abrasive, like a file or sandpaper, and rubbing away the remaining outer clay level to reveal the shiny metal beneath. Voila!
