Create instant festive on your dinner table with these clever turkeys...napkins in disguise. When I first started looking for directions, I settled on the first ones I came across--there were no photos. After trying to make a turkey carefully following the steps, I ended up with a mangled napkin, so I gave up and went in search of some with photos to go along with with words. I found some good ones!

  • Leave it to Martha Stewart to come up with a turkey napkin that actually looks like a turkey. I don't think I would use this one as part of the placesettings because it uses two napkins and some tin foil to help give it a refined shape. This detailed turkey would be best suited as part of a centerpiece. The steps were easy to follow, although my feathers might need a little more starch!
  • If you're into origami, you can find a Thanksgiving Turkey with 21 steps. Designed by Kalei Lundberg, it uses just one napkin, and no tin foil. After your guest admire your work, they can unfold it and plop it on their laps!
  • Finally, I found a bird of paradise folded napkin...I think the bird that makes Thanksgiving paradise is a turkey...I know, it's a stretch, but this napkin was really cool too!

A fancy folded napkin is an economical way to decorate your table, because you don't have to buy anything special or extra to do it, except for maybe some starch to make the folding easier! It can also be a fun activity to do with the kids...
