I just re-learned how to crochet after a long hiatus and chose this scarf from Debbie Stoller's book, The Happy Hooker, as my first project. This "One Skein Scarf," as it is called actually took me two skeins of my chosen yarn to finish but, thankfully, this gorgeous purple-gray yarn with gold metallic threads was on sale at The Village Sheep.

Though I love the finished scarf, I decided to give it to a good friend for her birthday. She loved it and thought this handmade present was so much better than any store bought gift I could have given her (which of course made me so happy and proud). On to project number two!
