Specialty Feet Make Sewing Easier
May 20th, 2008 in sewingWhen I first started sewing, I couldn’t be bothered with specialty sewing feet; it was enough just trying to learn the basics. Once I started to use them, I was struck by how easy they were to use and how they made the execution of certain sewing steps so much more efficient. Case in point: machine-sewing buttons.
So what do specialty feet have to do with machine-sewing buttons? The use of a specialty foot can actually make the already simple task of machine button-sewing easier. “Easier?” you say. Yes. Easier!
Some companies make a specific “button-sewing foot” for their sewing machine. This will hold the button for you while you sew it in place by the machine process we used before. Go ahead, and give it a try, I’m sure that you will be amazed by how simply having your button held securely makes the process of machine-stitching so much smoother.
Sewing machine manufacturers have developed several different types of button sewing feet. Check with your manufacturer, so you can find one that is right for your machine and your sewing needs.
