There are two types of controls for temperatures in commercial fridges NZ. There are the thermostatic type and the low-pressure control. The thermostatic type can either be an evaporator sensing type or an air sensing type.

Thermostatic air sensing thermostat

This type of thermostat senses the air temperature. The sensor tube is usually installed in the evaporator housing. You can get the evaporator inside the unit at the top near the fan motor in commercial fridges. The thermostat has a sensor or a straight capillary tube. The tube is mounted on the evaporator coil. The evaporator coil is usually pushed into the tube.

Thermostatic evaporator sensing thermostat

This type of thermostat has a capillary tube that is coiled attached to it. It looks like a tight spiral. This type of thermostat doesn't sense the air temperature. It senses the temperature of the evaporator coil. It is therefore important to know the type of thermostat when looking for refrigeration solutions NZ.

The evaporator and the air sensing thermostats are interchangeable. The evaporator unit shuts off permanently in case the air sensing control is put in its place and this causes a rise in temperature. The unit will continue to run if the evaporative sensing control is put in place of an air sensing control and this makes the evaporator to freeze up. This will then cause very little airflow making the temperature to rise.

The low-pressure control

This can be found in the compressor compartment in commercial fridges NZ. There is a low-pressure control connected in the lines of the refrigeration. It controls the temperature. It manages to do this by using the pressure of the refrigerant that flows through the line.
