Create Your Runway Style with SewStylish
May 17th, 2008 in sewing, books & moreI was immediately pulled in by the diaphanous, blue, empire-waist tank top on the cover of this Spring issue. "I want to make that," I thought. Though you hear this phrase often, this truly is a piece you could wear forever - it's versatile and timeless. A floaty little top like this could punch up a black suit or look right with a casual skirt at a backyard barbeque.
The projects inside the issue didn't disappoint, either. There are 25 of the best sewing tips the SewStylish editors have ever heard, an introduction to sewing machines and sewing essentials for newbies, a section on how to pick the best fabric for your project, an adorable bolero jacket that can be made three different ways and a formal dress that would flatter any figure. I can just see myself wearing the short version of that dress while dancing at an outdoor wedding this summer!
This is another issue that won't be seeing for the recycling bin anytime soon!
