Click Away for Cool Patterns
May 30th, 2008 in sewingThe season is changing fast, and I need to update my closet something fierce, so I went online and found some new trendy patterns that I’d like to share with you. My first stop was to Built By Wendy. Her line—Built By You—through Simplicity, is totally cute. The pattern images look simple and have a great retro feel. I immediately fell in love with several of them, and I can’t decide which one (or two? or three?) to make.
The next stop in my cool-pattern search was Hot Patterns. This company has it all—handbags, dresses, pants—and they have it all in several different styles! This is the place to find those patterns that offer multiple options for many different looks. You can easily create a whole closet full of stylish clothes and matching bags with just a pattern or two.
Another one of my favorite sites is Favorite Things. These über-creative ladies from the North (Canada) not only have great patterns, but they are well written and easy to follow. They design everything from kitchen aprons and capes to handbags and lunch bags. I think I should definitely pick up their slippers pattern and spend some time making them for Christmas presents!
After much browsing and much more indecision, I finally selected one pattern to start me off, and I am going to keep it a surprise for a future posting. Hmm ... maybe I should post it as a project we could do together ...
