Spotlight on SoftFlex
comments (3) June 20th, 2008I have always loved using SoftFlex wire on my projects; it's very durable, easy to work with, and incredibly good quality. It comes in a wide range of thicknesses and weights that are ideal to accommodate just about every bead or material you might use. I always recommend it: I have pieces I made with it 10 years ago that are still in perfect shape.
When I was at the Bead Expo recently, I got to look over some of the other products in the SoftFlex booth and see the entire range of their tools and materials—and I was really impressed.
I have used their Artistic Wire for quite a while, but the color spectrum they offer now is incredible. The wire is so bright and vibrant, and it's lovely to work with. And I hadn't realized that it comes in gauge sizes from 10 to 34!
Another surprise was their vast selection of semi-precious beads; I thought the quality was lovely, and the strands looked gorgeous in person.
And in addition to their product line, the SoftFlex Web site offers the handy School of Design collection of free projects and tips, as well as their Spotlight On... section of featured designers, local bead shops, and favorite pieces to make.
After you make this project, show off your work to other members!

Our product line has really expanded over the years. When we started out, there was just one diameter of Soft Flex Wire (.024/Heavy) and it was being hand measured and spooled. Now we have thousands of products. We really take pride in our selection of gemstones - so thanks for noticing them. We carry semi-precious and precious stones at shows, in our gallery and online.
Thank you for the lovely write up and for using our products in your designs.
