Love it! no recommendations
This was a monthly project from Sewers Forum which is a group of women
in several cities in Eastern Ontario brought together by the love of
sewing. The founder of the club, Cheryl Wray, comes up with the most
interesting projects, and this was for a fabric clutch. I put my own
spin on it by salvaging my husbands boiled wool driving cap, releasing
the fabric, washing it, pulling it and ironing it out flat, then using
the clutch pattern to cut it out, embellished it with finger felting,
and lined it with leftover curtain and kitchen chair fabric.
This was a woolen sweater belonging to my daughter who is taller and
longer limbed than I am. She passed it on to me to wear after its
first shrinkage incident. Some months later, it had its second
shrinkage incident, and so I turned it into a handbag and a change
purse and gave it back to my daughter for Christmas
This sweatshirt jacked was created in response to a challenge where only used clothing could be used to create a new piece of artwear.  The base was a denuded zippered and embroidered fleece jacket, and the top fabric was an old rayon broomstick skirt.

I like to create new and pretty things out of used items.   I also like to spend hours looking surfing the net and at all the wonderful things I can make, to the point where I hardly make anything!   I love to sew, and have a Husqvarna machine with an entry level embroidery unit on it.   The store where I bought it has two monthly get togethers where the owner (wonderful, wonderful creative lady that she is) teaches us new tricks and how to use different threads, presser feet, yarns, pretty ribbons, and various stablizers to create.  One meeting a month we use our embroidery functions.  The other monthly meeting is using sewing functions.  I also have a Europro computerized machine which is wonderful.  I am more a free-style fabric artist to date, but am trying to tame myself into conventional quilting with a fabulous group of women in my hometown.
