Pincushions /Sewing Crafts
June 3rd, 2008 in galleryI washed the tuna can VERY well. Used pliers to make sure there were no pieces of the can sticking up. I used duct tape to run around the edge and then stuffed with plain steel wool and polyester batting and then used some fabric scraps to cover and glue around the can. Used a scrap piece of black ribbon and tied, glued to make sure It was secure. Made a circle out of cardboard, covered with the same scrap fabric glued It on the bottom and there you have It. The steel wool will sharpen your pins/needles as you use them.
The packing tape roll was an experiment. My daughter took the picture with them sitting on my sofa which makes them look lop-sided. I did the same thing to the empty tape roll, only added some scrap trim and crystals.
