Have you heard of the mineral emery before ? Ever seen those tomato pincushions which come with a cute little strawberry? This strawberry is not part of the decoration. It has emery mineral inside to keep your pins and needles clean and sharp. Emery is a very hard crushed rock, used to make abrasive powders. .

I tried a lot of different sizes and emery amount. When the pincushion is really stuffed tight, you get a much better result. Every pincushion I make is double-layered with fabric to ensure the emery stays where it’s meant to!

Emery Pincushions really cute without being distracting while you work. The weight of the emery inside the pincushion means that it won’t move around on your table while you sew, even when it’s next to a hard-working sewing machine.

Feel like making your own pincushion? Do you sell pincushions or do you have quilt store? You can buy loose emery in my store, too. I love bulk orders so convo me if I don’t have the amount you need in stock, or for advice on how much you need to fill the size of pincushion you’re making.
