BrendaJMoores Ultimate Sewing Room
November 21st, 2008 in sewing, fashion, home decorating, embroideryThe Ultimate Sewing Room contest entry
Keeping the space light, open and bright with pale blue walls to ELIMINATE the yellow overcast that can show up on fabrics. The windows that open onto Mother Natures' bounty and beauty, which can invigorate the soul and the mind into the whirlwind of creativity we all wish for. Animal fun and funky print sofa and drapes which coordinate; who can work when there is too much clash distracting from the incredible prints and colours brought in with fabrics and craft items. My brain dost not wish to be overloden! The floor is a large pattern which makes the room appear larger, yet is not overdone in pattern....need to be able to see where I dropped that wonderful button. OOOH! Look out for pins....found em! Need the computer to keep up to date with new fashions, get my ideas drafted out, stored and to keep up with my friends. Who doesnt want a tidy desk, keeping a high quality sewing machine that is Sew right for me beside the computer enables multitasking without getting up. To step by step as I sew along is just like having an instructor by my side. When I need to take a quick vacation, I can take one in my mind while ironing and looking out onto the world of nature. Ahhh. And I'm back. My form, well not so obviously mine....looks like the loser in a game of "Hangman"; only in a good way! LOL Have to insert humour somewhere. The dresser is alone....very tidy inside, and leaving space for a partner should the need arise. Maybe it will, or maybe; I will keep to the small side of business; enough to LIVE on. No need for greed.

I love the large chair, not a sofa...too easy for me to want to crash or for others' to feel obliged to stay and take away from "my ultimate sewing, crafting time"; selfish in a good way.
I've left lots of room for getting around the room and for future additional equipment or storage needs.
I do love this room...all about me.
I also think this is a great opportunity to play and think out such ideas before I would actually do the work.
Thanks
