Cut out four pieces of fabric and pin two together, right sides facing.

A guy may have everything, and that might include less-than-fresh shoes, so why not whip up a pair of shoe submarines to torpedo odor and moisture? They are particularly handy for slipping into a pair of athletic shoes after a vigorous workout. No matter how much your guy sprinkles powder on or sprays his feet, chances are he could use a pair of these for much-loved (read: pungent) shoes. And hey, guess what? They make great stocking stuffers!

You’ll need:

  • 1/4 yard home décor fabric
  • Measuring tape or ruler
  • Fabric marker
  • Scissors
  • Thread
  • Sewing machine
  • 1-1/4 cups white rice
  • 1/4 cup baking soda
  • 1/2 cup dried rosemary

 Pick a fabric that's going to appeal to dudes.

Step 1: Iron the fabric. Fold the fabric in half, with right sides facing, and mark 3-1/2 inches x 8-1/2 inches. Pin and cut out the fabric so you have two pieces. Using these pieces as a template, cut out two more pieces in a similar fashion. You now have four pieces.

h_pets360 writes: Thanks! I made 'em with the quickness after I read this. Not very fancy fabric. I thought about embellishing them with embroidered birds, but then I realized that they're going inside the fiance's terribly stinky shoes and were perfectly fine bird-free. This is a brilliant idea, and so awesomely simple. So, thanks again.
