How to Make a One-Seam Holly-day Wine Bottle Bag

Start with wool felt, roving, a felting needle tool, a felting brush, and a little creativity.

After you felt your design on the center front of the bag, sew as directed.

Combine some easy felting techniques and a simple seam and you'll be ringing in the holly-day season with the most stylish hostess gift ever! Start by cutting a strip 6-1/2 inches x 32 inches from cream wool felt. Cut a 3-inch-wide circle on one end approximately 1-1/2 inches from the top and both sides.

Start with wool felt, roving, a felting brush, and a felting needle tool.

Approximately 5 inches below the hole, felt a holly design. Fold your wool in half wrong sides together, matching the raw edges. Measure from the fold up 7 inches along the raw edge on each side. Place a pin at each of these points. This is where you will start and stop your seam. Sew between these pins, remembering to backstitch at the beginning and end.  

Sew between your pins, then trim the seam with pinking shears for a cute decorative edge.

Slip a bottle of wine or sparkling juice through the side openings and you have a uniquely beautiful hostess gift!
