Recycled Sweater hat
December 12th, 2008 in galleryHere is my Recycled Sweater Hat. I found the sweaters at thrift store for $2 each - 100% wool! The trim (blue part) was a very thick sweater. So turns out it rolls up nicely for a different look.
This was my first try - glad this one wasn't a gift, I learned a few things that I'll do better on my next ones (smaller ones for my nephews).
One thing is that I'll do a better job at cutting the 5 parts more perfect and symetrical and make sure I sew the full 1/2" seam allowance - I did it a bit under 1/2" - so the hat is "roomy" - could have been tighter. Fun project! Hard to cut right into a perfectly good sweater at first ha ha.
