To design this dress, I kept pinning circles to my dressform until I had the perfect confection!

The beautiful bubble quilt by Coldfeetquilter reminded me of the dress I designed for the Bernina Fashion Show last year...This orignal design was created by stacking various sized organza circles on top of a larger circle. Each unique set of circles was free motion stitched using chizimi thread. This thread shrinks when you steam it with the iron, creating cool texture. The circles then joined each other on my dressform to create the shape of the dress. I embroidered an open sunflower design and free motion stitched the whole thing together!
