Love it! no recommendations
Batik fish pillows. The  9 patches were a gift from my daughter and the other was a batik I had forever. The patches inspired me to make both of these pillows.
I love color and fish motifs. I am a Pisces, and I live on the beach. I admired Laurel Burchs technique, but do not like cats. Her Ocean Songs line is gorgeous, and I have used the fabrics for pillows and purses. I bought lots of her fabric when I learned that she  recently died.
The background fabric is micro-fiber. I used wide bias binding, metallic thread and the patchwork stitch.

Pillows! I love them, they can change the look and feel of a room.

i recently changed the pillows in my living room from African prints to these laurel Burch "ocean songs" prints and two batiks.

I cut  up the  Ocean Songs prints and seperated each  specific fish design,  bordered them in cobalt blue double bias binding, and  stictched them with bronze metallic thread using the patchwork sticth.

The 9-patch is embellished with satin ribbon and shells.

I did free hand machine quilting on the other pillow.
