It's easy to make a pretty pair of drop earrings, and they make a fun last-minute gift, too. All you'll need are two focal beads, four seed beads (which are totally optional), some 24-gauge wire or eyepins, earring wires, and pliers.

I made this video based on my book, Bead Simple, to show the technique I like to use—creating a wrapped loop above your bead to make a bead dangle. You can also use it for a pendant, charm, or embellishment if you prefer. For a fancier take on the same idea, add lengths of chain above your bead dangles—just slip the wire tail from the wrapped-loop-in-progress into the last link on one end before completing the wrap, and slip the other end of the chain onto your earring wire. Now you have a longer and more elaborate version to wear...it's a very versatile and adaptable idea. Have fun with it!
