After you finish these cute flip-flops, get a pedicure and get ready for summer picnics!
Before you get started, gather your supplies.
Begin by securing the yarn around the flip-flop. I am showing it at the center of the strap for claritys sake, but you will want to start as close to the right edge as possible.

Trim the yarn, leaving an 8-inch tail. Wrap the yarn around the strap and tie a knot, then rewrap and reknot once more. With a yarn needle, weave the yarn back and forth through the stitches on the inside of the strap. Repeat this process for the other yarn tail.

Finally, sew a button to the center of each flip-flop.

To attach the button, thread a yarn needle with a length of yarn and knot the ends. Wrap the knotted yarn around the center of the flip-flop and insert the needle through the knotted end, then pull taut. Sew the button to the center, working the sewn stitches into the stitches around the center of the strap. Wrap the yarn around the button (underneath the button) and knot twice to secure. Trim the yarn ends.

Repeat this process for your second flip-flop, and your feet will be comfortably adorned just in time for Fourth of July cookouts.

LindaPermann writes: eveh- I think you can do it too! If you can't figure out the crocheting, you could probably get away with just wrapping the flip flops in a similar manner. Good luck!

eveh writes: That is the cutest thing I have seen for flip flops. I think I can handle this. I don't crochet much but this seems easy, just basic stitch. Thanks. I have an old pair actually that could use a little sprucing up. I'm thinking camel with a bronze button.
