Hot Fashion at the Freedom of Expression Fashion Show
June 21st, 2008 in sewing, fashionThis past Thursday, June 19th, we cruised down to Woodbridge, CT to check out Gibbs College's students' spring fashion show. When we arrived at the Amity Teen Center, it was tough finding a parking spot...and we were early!

The entrance to the show was clearly marked! |
Once inside, the music was lively and the scene was perfectly set for fashion to explode onto the runway. We grabbed our seats and I perusing a copy of the premiere issue of BRAG Magazine that I picked up at the door. In addition to spotlighting three up-and-coming designers and "The Gloves are Off" student fashion show held this past November, the magazine provided Gibbs's students the opportunity to showcase their many talents. The entire staff was recuited from the student body--everyone from the writers and editors to the graphic designers, stylists and photographers right down to the models! I was very impressed, and I couldn't wait to see what would be coming down the runway.

Before the show, I spotted Daniela Vlad in the audience. She is one of the talented designers featured in the Premier Issue of Brag Magazine. She also had some great stuff in the show! You can check her out at www.danielavladcouture.com. |
Once the show got started, it was nonstop action. I loved the variety of styles--everything from vintage and classic to urban and edgy!

This red dress was amazing...I wish I could post pictures of every outfit! (it was hard to pick and choose.) |
After the show was over some of the fashion designers came on stage for a bow...(we loved the tee shrit on the right!)

And last by not least, I got to finally check in with Jen Sauer (right), pictured here with Nancy Brown.

They were busy backstack during the show--making it look like it was effortless for the models to keep reappearing on the runway in a new outfit!
