Making It Pretty at CHA
comments (2) January 30th, 2009Back when I was a visual manager at Anthropologie, we used to say that our jobs were all about "making the pretty." Our eyes were carefully trained to see little bits of handmade loveliness and simple beauty everywhere we went, and I'm still always on the lookout for beautiful vignettes and displays.
Having spent four days at CHA, one of the biggest craft shows in the world, I couldn't help but notice how uncrafty a lot of the booths were. It's hard to get pumped up about new craft products and techniques when you're walking through a convention center looking at one boring corporate booth after another. You've already seen our (oh-so-crafty) booth, but here are a few of my other favorite moments from CHA—these people really knew how to "make the pretty."
