How to Make Mittens for Lovers

A bright red, firmly felted sweater will make a very cozy and romantic set of mitts.
If you dont have your sweeties hand available, use an existing pair of gloves as a template.

Pin the cut-out material right sides together.


 Pin the template to one layer of the material at a time when cutting out your pieces.

Sew together with a 1/4-inch seam allowance. Remember to backstitch at the cuff edge as there will be quite a bit of strain here as you put on and take off the mittens. Turn right side out. Use a chopstick or the eraser edge of a pencil to poke out the thumb completely.


 Pin together rights sides together before sewing.

Wear your new mitts with your special someone to stay close and warm!


 The little appliquéd heart says it all!

SewDanish writes: I once bought a beautiful hand knittet version of this "holding hands glove" in Norway. Was knittet with a lovely traditional Norwegian pattern. I still have it :-)

One of the projects I remember him making was a "love glove"...so he could hold hands with this wife on walks when the weather was cold. Great project....romantic and practical!
