restyle! i love it!  i've probably done over a hundred of these over the years. i've found old hatboxes at garage sales and antique shops and restyled them to match my decor. i give them as gifts or sell them on ebay. i have wall paper and fabric left over from redecorating projects. i use modge pauge glue to decopauge the fabric onto the box. i usually cut a cardboard circle the exact size of the lid, decopauge the fabric onto the cardboard, and then use a good tacky glue to attach to the lid. i'll weight it down with books or something heavy enough to make sure it is secure and dries flat. i'll then decopauge the sides and bottom of the box and use pretty lace trims to embellish. so pretty and a great storage solution!
