How to Make a Cat Teaser Wandcomments (1) February 18th, 2009
One of my favorite things about cats it that, like me, they are utterly fascinated by shiny objects. My friends' cat, Max, could spend ages chasing a laser pointer or a piece of ribbon. He would bounce around, run up and down the walls, just basically go nuts! I made this toy with young Max in mind. He would love this thing. . . so shiny with feathers and ribbon and tons of bounce. This thing would drive him mad! In the best way possible, of course.
Max, this one's for you.
What you'll need:
- Ribbons of various widths (I used ribbons with a lot of shine)
- Fabric glue
- Glitter pipe cleaners
- A wood dowel (I used a 3/8-inch-diameter dowel painted black)
First, cut your ribbon to various lengths. I cut mine between 28 inches and 36 inches in length. Your widest ribbon will be your feathered ribbon.
Repeat these steps on the other end of the ribbon.
Allow the glue on your feathered ribbon to dry.
Now that your teaser wand is done, find a cat and get to fascinating!
