Check out the latest post on the Lion Brand Notebook, "5 Ideas for Knitting and Crocheting in Groups". The post offers advice about how to keep things fun in your fiber group, such as doing a crochet (or knit) along, challenging yourselves to personalize the same pattern, and knitting for charity. I especially like the idea of "yarn tasting" where everyone brings some yarn for the group to try. Sounds like a great way to try new fibers while simulataneously decreasing the stash. Plus, making a gauge swatch is an easy-to-follow assignment, which is great for working in groups. You know, since you are probably there to talk and sip wine as much as you are to knit.

Do you have a crochet or knitting  group? If so, how did you get it started and how do you keep it going (especially through summer months)? I'd love to hear your tips.
