Fuzzy Friends Fabric Frame

If you want to show off your beloved pet, try this quick restyling of a picture frame with fabric and embellishments.
Supplies:
- Fat quarter of fabric
- Matching embellishments such as lace, ribbons, buttons, charms, etc.
- One sheet of Steam-A-Seam II Lite
- One roll of 1/2-inch Steam-A-Seam II tape
- Scissors
- Iron
Remove the glass and backing pieces from your frame. Place your frame on your fabric. Cut the fabric 1-1/2 inches larger than the frame on all sides. Trace the frame onto a sheet of Steam-A-Seam II Lite. Cut the frame shape from the Steam-A-Seam.
Remove all glass and back pieces from the frame. Trace the frame onto a sheet of Steam-A-Seam II Lite. |
Peel one side of the paper away from the Steam-A-Seam. Iron it onto the wrong side of your fabric. Sew any ribbons or trims onto the right side of your decorative fabric.
Cut the frame shape from the Steam-A-Seam Lite. Peel away one side of the paper backing. Iron onto the wrong side of your decorative fabric. |
Fuse the fabric onto the right side of the frame. Cut an X in the picture opening, and wrap the triangles to the wrong side of the frame. Cut away the extra fabric. Use Steam-A-Seam 1/2-inch tape to fuse the edges to the wrong side of the frame.

Decorate with your buttons, letters, flowers, or other trinkets that remind you of your pet.

Think out of the box! For my final version of Annabella's frame, I used scrapbooking brads with typewriter-font letters!
For Annabella's frame, I used antique lace that matched my fabric and scrapbooking letter brads to spell out her name. |
