This red vintage button necklace is simple to make and very pretty on!
I made this necklace using the shrink-art buttons from last weeks tutorial, and kept it adjustable in length with a button embellishment at the end of the chain.
This blue Circles and Blossoms necklace joins vintage buttons with plastic circles all the way around.

2. You’ll connect each of these buttons in a row of five using smaller jump rings. Join them one at a time, beginning with the center circle and alternating with the matching ones on each side, and so on.

Here are the center three linked buttons of the five.

3. When your five buttons are linked into a chain, they should lie flat with all buttons facing up. If any are backwards, just open the small jump rings and flip the button over so it lies facing up.

4. Add 5 inches of chain (or whatever length yields your desired length of necklace) to each side of the linked buttons, using small jump rings.

Add the clasp and chain using jump rings.

5. Use small jump rings to attach the clasp and ring to the ends of the chain.

The row of red buttons is neatly linked with the small jump rings.

gracie_girl writes: This is beautiful! I really find the necklaces attractive. I have a very large [relatively old]cannister of buttons, so I know I have plenty of materials to try this out. I'd wear any of those designs in a heartbeat! Classy and cool!
