These button embellishments are quick to make and so pretty on a simple pair of flats!
Choose a pair of favorite buttons and felt in two coordinating colors for your embellishments.
Embroidering a contrast running stitch on the felt leaves is a sweet little extra.

1. Choose two buttons and two colors of thick felt that you like together. For mine, I arranged blue buttons on a similar blue felt for flower rosettes, and then added a dark brown felt leaf pairing to coordinate nicely.

2. Cut out two round rosettes with pinking shears in color #1 and two sets of marquise-shaped leaves (I made one slightly smaller than the other for a little contrast) in color #2 with sharp scissors.

Cut out two felt rosettes and four felt leaves.

3. Thread your needle with a double strand of embroidery thread in color #1 and knot it securely. Embroider a simple running stitch from one tip of the leaf to the other, varying your stitch length as you like. Knot securely at the other end. Add stitching to all four leaves this way.

Add a simple, pretty running stitch to each leaf.
