Sweater into a Bag
March 28th, 2009 in sewing, galleryRecycle an Old Sweater into a Bag
I cut the sweater -2 cuts - 17" x 17" and a 2 lining cuts the same size. I took a plate and rounded 2 corners on the sweater and the lining for the bottom of the bag. I sewed the sweater and the lining (RST) left a 3" opening for turning and once the pieces were turned I sewed them together (the corners were at the bottom of the bag) and left 6 inches not sewed at the top. I had some handles that worked out perfect for the bag and just folded the sweater and lining over them and hand stitched the handle in place. I love it! You can never have too many bags.
