terra cotta pincushions
comments (0) March 29th, 2009 in gallery
"Terra cotta" or "baked earth" is the basis for these decorative pincushions. Just as the dry, clay earth can be watered and fed by the elements thus bringing forth vegetation and beauty, so too these simple clay pots can be transformed into works of fiber art. The covering is 100% wool decorated with wool needle felting designs depicting the flora, fauna, and fun of the earth. Each piece of needle felting wool and decoration is a left over scrap from a previous knitting or sewing project. Nothing has gone to waste!
Pattern or design used: My own design - Fiberfads!
