Springtime Play Place
comments (3) March 30th, 2009 in galleryI created this Springtime Play Place for my daughter. She enjoys playing with her tiny dolls and figurines, inviting them for picnics in her very own, hand-crafted world. The wooden box is painted a springtime green. I crocheted a long chain of single crochet stitches and covered the outside with the yarn. The tree is made from a discarded wooden, cone-shaped block and an empty thread spool. A floral cotton fabric serves as the liner for the bottom of the box. Accents include stones found in my mother-in-law's driveway, purchased shells, as well as shells from a trip to the beach, and finally a tiny mirror to represent water.
