I created this Springtime Play Place for my daughter. She enjoys playing with her tiny dolls and figurines, inviting them for picnics in her very own, hand-crafted world. The wooden box is painted a springtime green. I crocheted a long chain of single crochet stitches and covered the outside with the yarn. The tree is made from a discarded wooden, cone-shaped block and an empty thread spool. A floral cotton fabric serves as the liner for the bottom of the box. Accents include stones found in my mother-in-law's driveway, purchased shells, as well as shells from a trip to the beach, and finally a tiny mirror to represent water.
