I made this Pine cone angel out of a medium small pinecone that I found on the ground at our community park. This was in November of 2008. I cleaned it and saved it. Now, I made an angel out of it, and I am entering it into this contest.

First of all I carefully broke off the top if the pine cone by chipping away at it with my glass cutter (it was what I had on hand, and it broke the pieces easily and little at a time.).

Then, I sanded down the top using a file. Next, I got a wooden bead and glued it to the top. Then, I drew 2 dots for eyes, and one red dot for the mouth with a Sharpie pen. Finally, I glued thin strands of organic Hemp for the hair.

As a final touch I chipped off a few more pieces of the pine cone at the bottom to give my angel a better shape, and I added some see thru stretchy cord for hanging.

I didn't add extenal wings on this angel, because her wings are part of the pine cone.
