This is a close up of the fabric softener flower. Notice the butterfly, too.

I sewed on the fabric softener sheets

My inspiration was the first flowers that bloom in spring.  The cherry blossom flowers are my favorite.  The flowers are usually white or pink.  I spend a lot of time in my laundry room.  One day, I noticed how many dryer sheets that I was putting into the trash.  I wanted to see if I could create something with them.  I wanted to know how it would turn out if I sewed on them.

Carolebarrel writes: Could you color the fabric sheets with a magic marker, crayons-- melted an iron between two sheets of newspaper to absorb excess for a little bit of color. Care taken with a hot iron since crayons are wax to avoid burning. Doing so could make some interesting patterns as well as add stiffness I would imagine. Great way to recycle, CraftyK!
