Give these flowers to your mom, grandma, or favorite friend. Happy Mothers Day!
To get started, fold the lower ridge of the beginning of the rickrack under, as shown. Tack in place. Youll do this at the end of the rickrack, too, when youre finished making the flower.
Sew in and out of each lower point of the rickrack, all the way across.
Give these flowers to your mom, grandma, or favorite friend. Happy Mothers Day!

Whipstitch the felt circle to the back of the flower, concealing the raw edges of the rickrack underneath the felt as you go.

Give them to your mom, grandma, or favorite friend. Happy Mother's Day!

ImaMes writes: Great idea, Linda! It would make a cute barrette, too... maybe using slightly smaller rickrack. I have some barrette backs (similar to the pin backs). I think I'll make one for my granddaughter!

What a great idea, they would be great to wear on clothes, hats, or purses.
They look like they would be quick and easy, I guess I will have to take a road trip to buy some giant rick rack :-)
I can't wait to try them.
thanks for sharing.

sewitall writes: these will be great for my fabric purses; I was looking for an original "brooch" to use other than my vintage brooches and incorporating old buttons is great; you could make a mound of teeny tiny buttons for the center
