Make up roll
comments (1) May 1st, 2009 in galleryI decided one day that I needed a place to keep all my makeup brushes so that they wouldn't get crushed or ruined. Measured my tallest brush and my fattest brush and how many brushes I had. I decided I wanted my eye liners in there too! So make sure the fabric pieces are taller than your tallest brush (account for seam allowances) and if you have 6 brushed that are 1/2 inch thick, then you better make the fabric pieces longer than 3 inches (make sense?) I cut one rectangle of the outside fabric (which was about half of a fat quarter), the same size for the lining fabric, then half of the remaining half of the outside fabric (confused yet?) I added a rectangle of left over fleece to give it some cushion. I sewed the 1/4 size strip on the lining fabric by measuring about every 1/2 (depending on the widest brush I wanted to put in there). Then I sewed along the outside of the lining and outside pieces (rightsides together) with the fleece on the top. I left a space to turn it right side out, pressed, topstitched and VIOLA! Oh yeah, the buckle - it's more of a strip and a snap - I just sewed that on afterwards...It's been the most convenient thing I've ever made! I make make up bags too and it fits right in there and I can keep everything clean and organized! Since I've made this one,
Any tips or advice, or pros or cons?
