My girlfriend Gina asked me to make her an apron. Her only requests were that it be brown and pink and that it have pockets. She loved the vintage-inspired style of the very first apron I sewed (the Full Contact Apron from Anna Marie Horner's "Seams to Me: 24 New Reasons to Love Sewing"), so I used that experience as my starting point. I added D-Rings at the neck to she can adjust the fit to be just right. Also, I made the waist tie longer so she can tie it to the front or the back. The bib features an inverted pleat, a detail I love on these aprons! I added a little loop on one side to hold a dish towel plus two pockets. I had just finished a project with a ruffle, so I thought that would be a flirty little addition to the apron. (You can't see it in the photo, but the waist tie features pleating on each side where it joins the bib - again, an extra little detail to make it special.)
