Where to Find Free Super Stitch Inspiration
comments (3) July 4th, 2008In case you haven't noticed yet, lots of yarn websites offer loads of free inspiration on the web. And when you're surfing around, there's no need to be snobby—the companies that make the most affordable yarns also happen to have the largest selection of free patterns on their website.
One of my favorite websites to go to for free inspiration is Lion Brand. Once you register, they'll send a free weekly e-mail to your inbox. If you scan to the end of this email each week, you'll find a lovely feature called crochet block of the week, plus you'll gain access to all of the old newsletters and all of the featured stitches once you register for their site. I like to browse the site when I'm stuck as far as what I want to make; it reminds me of all the different types of things I can crochet, then I can narrow it down.
Lion Brand recently started their own blog as well: Lion Brand Notebook where they round up fiber community happenings, stories, tips, and reviews. If you'd rather lurk than give them your email, this is your ticket to staying in touch.
How about you—what yarn company newsletters do you find useful?

My favorite website to purchase standard yarns, supplies and get help when needed is the yahoo group; Readily Available Yarns & More. Here's the link:

Enjoy browsing.
