Here are costumes for two of the Kings in the 2007 production of "Amahl and The Night Visitors", by my church, St. Theresa Catholic Church, Austin, TX.

This is the first time I ever did costuming for a play/musical/opera. I did lots of research into clothes of royalties of the period, but in the end, I took plenty of liberty with the design and details of the costumes. One costume was for the role of "Melchior", the baritone part, and the other costume was for Balthazaar, the bass part.

I also made the head wear for both roles. This is also the first time that I made head wear of any sorts! That was fun too.

TRAYNE writes: I think that you have done an excellent job.. it does take a bit of research to do costumes. I have been doing costumes for the hometown theatre and other asundry places for nearly 40 years.. I just did retire to hopefully write a book on my style of costuming.

I like both of your costumes..You did especially well, considering both men were not average in heighth and girth.

Keep up the good work.
